Group Therapy & Psychoeducation

The idea of a group can be scary but groups are proven to be powerful and can help us with our problems. Sharing our struggles and recognising other people's struggles can help us to feel less alone and more hopeful.

A therapeutic group can give us the opportunity to share without judgement or 'good advice' from others.

The groups offer a space where a contract is constructed around confidentiality and respect with the aim for every participant to feel safe.

The groups are mostly online (via Zoom) to give you the option to have your camera on or off and its up to you to decide how much you want to engage with the group. You might realise that your engagement will increase over time. This is an indication that your confidence levels are increasing.

There are are separate groups for adults and young people.

Wellbeing Group for Women

Women empowering women.

This (small, 5 max) group is a hybrid between a CBT psychoeducational and a Self-Reflective Group, for women, where we explore Self-Esteem and how we can improve the relationship with ourselves (and others), how we can look after ourselves by exploring our feelings and tapping into our needs and developing helpful coping skills.

Coping with Bereavement

Space to listen and share with people who are bereaved and are grieving.

This (small, 6 max) group is for all who are struggling with the loss of a loved one. Often we feel the pressure from others to recover after a specific period of time. In reality that doesn't work like that. This can make it hard to talk our feelings. Sharing with others who understand this can help. It's a safe space to talk and listen. The group is facilitated by a counsellor.

Men's Mental Health Group

Let's talk Mental Health.

This (small, 6 max) group is a hybrid between a CBT psychoeducational and a Self-Reflective Group, for men, where we talk about our mental health and what we can do to improve it. We cover topics like, Anger, Low mood, Self-Esteem and Anger and there is space for everyone to explore how we are feeling and what we need.

LGBTQ+ Mental Health Group

This (small, 6 max) group is a hybrid between a CBT psychoeducational and a Self-Reflective Group, for the LGBTQ+ community, where we talk about our mental health and what we can do to improve it. We talk about Gender Dysphoria Anger, Anxiety, Depression, Self-Esteem and there is space for all to express and explore how we feel and what are we struggling with.

Therapeutic - Self-Reflective group

This group offers the opportunity to explore what is going on for you, to reflect on this and to identify your needs. This group is less structured and there is more space for participants to reflect and share.

Aim: to gain self-awareness and insight

Creative Art group to explore our feelings and making sense of them

This is a stand-alone group where you learn how to use art to help to explore and unpack your feelings and needs.

Each session will have a guided imagery exercise followed with space to create an art work. There is an opportunity to share your image and gained insight if you wish.
